Anxiety and depression are probably two faces of the same coin. Surveys have long shown that 60 to 70 percent of people with major depression also have an anxiety disorder, while half of those suffering anxiety also have symptoms of clinical depression.

However, just telling a distressed person to exercise is futile, as depression destroys initiative. The best thing a loved one can do is to simply announce: "Let's go for a walk." Then accompany the person out the door.
So come on, grab your jacket...

Who are you "Cried", I hope, whoever you are, that there is happiness in your life. Your articles are somewhat sad, very good, but laden in a sense, with a somewhat subdued sorrow. I always vote for you when I see your articles, be good and please smile.

I like going out and shooting my guns when I get a little stressed. I invite all of my friends, I think its good for the soul. We have a great time and everyone is a little more sane at the end.
Er, as long as you are doing this in a safe manner, fernando, and nobody gets hurt, I see no reason not to. I worry about the "little more sane at the end." comment though. Guns and maladjustment generally do not go well together.
We are all veterans, we are as safe as it gets with our guns.
I generally think that everyone is at a level of insanity, your highest level of insanity might be my medium level and my medium level might be the lowest level of someone clinically insane. So yes we can all be more or less sane dependent on the situation. After shooting, mine drops a little.
medication works try it.
Singh, in case you didn't read the article, I empathized in bold here:
Although medication and CBT are equally effective in reducing anxiety/depression, CBT is better at preventing return of the disorder. Patients like it better, too, because it allows them to feel responsible for their own success. What's more, the active coping that CBT encourages creates new brain circuits that circumvent the dysfunctional response pathways.
Sure medication works, but Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is better in the long run.

Not sure if it works for everyone but there are many new anti anxiety meds that work wonders. Once you cure anxiety and restore sleep cycle other symptoms will disappear witha change in lifestyle.
My research proves that people struggle without meds for many years before they contemplate therapy and that is the root cause of the suffering.

Oops it should have been emphasized there instead of empathized lol.
As to your comment:
My research proves that people struggle without meds for many years before they contemplate therapy and that is the root cause of the suffering.
The reason is that they are getting no treatment whatsoever! or when they are getting treatment it is often a misdiagnosis. It is not necessarily that a drug regimen is better. Most drug regimens are a lifelong process. There is no 'magic pill' to cure whatever ails us, but there is a pill that cures the bad bottom line of drug manufacturers. All in all, any relief is better for one suffering through depression and anxiety.
Thank you for contributing here, Singh.

Yes but the fact that people typically go upto a decade or more without any treatment is really troubling.
Medication does not completely cure anxiety or depression but it sure puts you on the path and increases your odds to recover faster.
